Your Storytelling Celebrant with a Dash of Fun and Southern Charm!
I’m Caroline, and I’m over the moon that you’re considering me as your celebrant! I live in the charming town of Harrogate, North Yorkshire (though my roots are pure ‘Southerner’ – still got the accent!), where I share a colourful life with my husband, our lively twins, our 18 year old daughter and our eldest girlie (who pops in and out when she needs her washing done!) Oh, and let’s not forget our cheeky Cavapoo, Walter—who firmly believes he’s the boss of everything! (to be fair, he’s not far wrong!)
“But if you’re Caroline, who on earth is ‘Lottilly’?” I hear you cry? Well, ‘Lottilly’ is a combo of my two daughters’ names! (See what I did there?! Got me some good mum brownie points for that, I can tell you!)
Meeting new people and diving into their unique life stories is totally my thing, and I bring that spark to every ceremony script I craft and deliver. With over 20 years of navigating the delightful chaos of teenagers as a secondary school English and Media teacher, (picture me as a word wizard with a knack for creative writing and public speaking!) it was practically written in the stars that I’d end up in the fabulous world of celebrancy! (And yes, I might have a bit of a celebration obsession- but in the most delightful, fun way imaginable!).
Crafting Fun, Unique Ceremonies with Heart and Creativity!
I’ve also had the pleasure of being a Wedding Registrar, but I felt that the ‘conveyor belt’ impersonal ceremonies left me feeling a bit ‘meh’; that I wanted to ‘do more’ for, and give couples the wonderfully unique, bespoke, 100% personalised ceremony they deserved. So I did my qualification in celebrancy and TaDa! Here I am! Living my dream!
When I’m not ‘working’ (although being a celebrant genuinely doesn’t feel like a job!), I can be found singing in a pop choir (or karaoke- yes, I am THAT person!!), paddleboarding, camping with the fam or basically doing anything creative! (Pinterest is my best friend! – my husband breaks out is a cold sweat any time I get a tape measure out in the house; he knows I’ve had yet ANOTHER idea!). Oh and full disclosure… I am a bit of a True Crime junkie!
I firmly believe we have one shot at life so let’s make it FUN!
